Fluid Eating's Review of Me Love Sushi
The elegant champagne and sake bar has an 'in the know' feel, due to its intimate size. With seating for just 44 people, the stunning room, with black leather banquettes and stools, offers plenty of natural light through large windows and a skylight, and an atmospheric spot to people-watch from at night. The feature bottle wall, behind the illuminated marble bar, displays the range of champagnes and sakes, including unusual finds such as brown rice and fruit sakes.
The barman's speciality is mixing saketini and ShoChu cocktails with house specials including Wow Wow Lychee (fresh lychee muddled with lemongrass infused vodka and lychee sake), Japanese Slipper (a classic combination of Midori and Grand Marnier with a dash of lemon), Sushi Love (fresh cucumber and raspberry muddled with vodka and ShoChu)
For those wanting to eat in the bar, 'Nibbles' such as grilled Japanese chicken wings, edamame, vegetable tempura and calamari chunks are available. Or, for those wanting something more substantial, 'Love Bites' - bite-sized food ideal for sharing - such as sashimi, nigirii and a variety of rolls are served, as well as a 30-piece sushi platter (for £40). “If you have never tried sushi before you should! And this is a great place to try it the staff are more than happy to give their recommendations and which tend not to include loads of raw fish, so you’re eased in gently! They have a large choice with a variety of fillings, which include meat, fish or just veg. They also have a range of cooked dishes so you can try some sushi but don’t need to have a complete meal of it if you don’t want to! If you are trying the sushi then my favourites are the California temaki, prawn nigiri and pickled asian radish hosomaki.”

“Took my children here during the Easter holidays when we were visiting family in the area. Wasn't sure how they would be as they’d never tried sushi before but decided to risk it as I'd seen they did cooked dished as well and they’re good at trying new foods normally.
I didn't need to worry because they loved it and didn’t even want to bother with any of the cooked dishes (which is unusual as their favourite dinner is chicken noodles) we just shared plates of sushi with some dumplings, chicken skewers and tempura veg. They want to go back in the summer hols!!”

“I've been here a few times when i've had a day shopping in London and have tried both their hot food and sushi and everything has been really good. I really liked the chicken teriyaki and the tempura's good, my favourite sushi is the salmon nigiri and the duck roll uramaki. Oh and if you go there when it's cold the miso soup is good too!”

“This has got to be one of my kids favourite venues, we often go for a late weekend lunch and order different plates for everyone to share. The sushi has helped to expand their taste buds and they all love any of the dishes with seaweed now!”

“I'm a veggie so I'm always looking for places that I can with my meat eating friends and we can all find something which we love, I love any kind of fish, so I’ve always eaten Sushi, the large rolls with the rice round the outside are good filled with spicy tuna and they do nice dumplings too. I've even converted my meat eating friends to all the fish on offer here!”

“I started with calamari chunks which were cooked really well, then moved on to a rice bowl with prawn and crab, which had a really nice garlic sauce. The food had loads of flavor and everything was freshly cooked, the restaurant also had a good buzzing atmosphere.”

“I went to the Swiss Cottage restaurant while visiting a friend in the area, and wanted something quick (but more filling than a sandwich) to eat before catching my train home. I started with some vegetable dumplings and then had a bowl of chicken noodles, it was filling & really tasty and good value for money too.”

“utterly dissapointing. The salmon in our teryaki was part raw, part cooked, the beef noodles (udon) turned out to be a very greasy stir fry with three small slices of beef served luke warm and the eel dish was tasteless. Added to this the restaurant was far to hot and when we complained they left it all to the waitress to sort out. This is not authentic Japanese cuisine and as such is very overpriced.”
