Picture of The Calf, a Bar in Clapham, London, SW4 The Calf Restaurant, Clapham, London (SW4 0DR) customer review by Martin likes to eat, Basel Switzerland: Eaten many places in London, would have to say well worthy. Far superior to something like an "All bar one". 6 of us ate there and all were very satisfied. Service is a little slow but friendly. Enjoyable relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to next time we're in the area. (09/03/10)

Picture of Carluccio's, a Restaurant in St Johns Wood, London, NW8 Carluccio's Restaurant, St Johns Wood, London (NW8 7SH) customer review by christine, london: i went here with a friend one night during the week. although the food is extremely well-priced i have to say, when ever i think back to the food, i think: stodgy. People raved about carluccio's so much - thought id go back a second time and order something else. Still, stodgy. maybe italian and i dont mix so well. (09/03/10)

Picture of Waxy O'Connor's, a Bar in Piccadilly Circus, London, W1 Waxy O'Connor's Restaurant, Piccadilly Circus, London (W1V 7FN) customer review by luntar, london: i really enjoyed waxy o'connors. the music especially was very attractive as it was all the hits from the 90's - when i was a teeny bopper. it was so much fun. Even though i went on a thursday night, it was still busy with full of intersting people. great place. (09/03/10)

Picture of Salvador & Amanda, a Bar / Restaurant in Leicester Square, London, WC2 Salvador & Amanda Restaurant, Leicester Square, London (WC2H 7JA) customer review by tuptim, london: i came here on a date and it was perfect for the first date nerves! the music was lively and the service was good. some of the tapas were quite expensive though and they forgot to bring one of the dishes i requested. all in all though, a good night and it's also really busy... so enough to distract us a little at those awkward moments of silence. Picture of Da Spago, a Restaurant in South Kensington, London, SW7 Da Spago Restaurant, South Kensington, London (SW7 3DP) customer review by maria, London: We had an unbelievable time, delicious food with fantastic service; I’m sure they will get better with the desserts…couldn’t go any better. Picture of Ping Pong, a Bar / Restaurant in Waterloo, London, SE1 Ping Pong Restaurant, Waterloo, London (SE1 8XX) customer review by Steve, London: Great food and reasonably priced (given the location). Our only gripe was the service: several times it took 10+ minutes for drinks to arrive after ordering (quite a feat considering we were ordering bottled beer). The waiting staff are masters at ignoring "please may I have some service" hand waving. (09/03/10)

Picture of Las Iguanas, a Bar / Restaurant in Waterloo, London, SE1 Las Iguanas Restaurant, Waterloo, London (SE1 8XX) customer review by Steve, London: A great bar in the summer when you can spill out over the pavement, but when we visited last night (a cold March evening) we were a little disappointed. The place was emptying after dinner and there were a number of free tables. When we asked if our party of six could sit at one of these we were told no. Instead we were directed to huddle around a small table by the door (freezing every time the door was opened). To make matters worse we were told we had to collect our own chairs from outside. The bar staff had stripped down the bar by 10.30 and the overall impression was they didn't want our business. I guess, during winter months, they are only interested in diners. Shame as they do a good margarita. (09/03/10)

Picture of Cargo, a Bar / Restaurant / Club in Shoreditch, London, EC2 Cargo Restaurant, Shoreditch, London (EC2A 3AY) customer review by mo, london: I spent my 31st birthday here and was looked after so well! We booked an area and were looked after by a lovely waitress... This bar has everything, Great music, friendly staff, excellent atmosphere and wicked art work in the outside smoking patio - can't wait til summer, this place will be great! Can't really say anything bad about this place... It's unpretentious, but very cool, one of the better venues in oh-so-cool Shoredich. It got pretty busy, but that's a good thing?! Will be returning again and again! (08/03/10)

Picture of Bluebird Restaurant & Club, a Bar / Restaurant / Club in Chelsea, London, SW3 Bluebird Restaurant & Club Restaurant, Chelsea, London (SW3 5UU) customer review by Mr W, London: I don't know what the other reviews are talking about, but our night out at the Bluebird was fantastic. Started with cocktails in the bar. Seriously good, best I've had in a long time. Great service too. The buzz on a Thursday was excellent, with dinner to follow in the adjoining restaurant. Food was good too, conventional British fare. Didn't blow me away, but still very enjoyable. Back to the bar for a last drink was the highlight of a great evening. (05/03/10)

Picture of Balham Bowls Club, a Bar / Restaurant in Balham, London, SW12 Balham Bowls Club Restaurant, Balham, London (SW12 8QX) customer review by Reggie Picker, Streatham: One of Balham’s best pubs. There’s plenty of old school character here and it’s easy to lose an afternoon hanging out amongst the 30somethings of South London. Old wooden walls, board games, interesting beers, and a refusal to look outside at the rain. Great for the colder months, fact! (05/03/10)

Picture of Meze Kitchen, a Restaurant in London, SW12 Meze Kitchen Restaurant, Balham, London (SW12 9EY) customer review by Tad Bit, Chicago, USA: Cheap and cheerful Greek meze, much needed in the Balham area. The food was above average, the service was quick and friendly, and the beer was delightfully Mediterranean. The decor is full of hard surfaces so it can feel a bit like a Pizza Express or Carluccio’s, but for the price we paid, I’m definitely coming back. Tip: 5 plates between two people is plenty. Picture of Vivat Bacchus Restaurant & Wine Cellar, a Restaurant in Holborn, London, EC4 Vivat Bacchus Restaurant & Wine Cellar Restaurant, Holborn, London (EC4A 4LL) customer review by Aaron, East Dulwich: Quite simply amazing food. We came here for one of chef Jordi’s special Chef’s Table nights. My goodness, what a gastronomical adventure! The things his does with his ingredients are mind-blowing, especially when the cost of the meal is taken into account (comes with wine for only £39!!). The wine cellars are very impressive too and we were encouraged to hand pick our wines from the bins ourselves. One of The City’s best kept secrets. I would say this is a must for anyone who works in the area. (05/03/10)

Picture of My Old Dutch, a Restaurant in Kensington, London, W8 My Old Dutch Restaurant, Kensington, London (W8 4EP) customer review by Stacy Masing, Earl's Court: Not the most modern of restaurants, and it has a certain ‘Little Chef’ feel about it, but the lunch special was pretty decent. A two course affair involving various pancakes for only about £8. A cheap place for a shopping lunch break. (05/03/10)

Picture of Trafalgar Tavern, a Bar in Greenwich, London, SE10 Trafalgar Tavern Restaurant, Greenwich, London (SE10 9NW) customer review by Randy Webb, Shoreditch: This pub is great for those lazy Sunday afternoons. A short stroll around Greenwich, perhaps taking in the museum, before staking a claim to a table near the bay window with an impressive view of the Isle of Dogs and the O2. The roasts are adequate in quality and generous in portion. Make sure you get a spot early though, it is very popular with migrating tourists. (05/03/10)

Picture of Phoenix, a Bar in Denmark Hill, London, SE5 Phoenix Restaurant, Denmark Hill, London (SE5 8BB) customer review by Tasha Nabbs, Dulwich: Best pub inside a train station ever! Loads of unusual character, which is so frequently missing from many a gastropub. And the transport connections couldn’t be any better really. Never looks like it’s busy, even though it should be. Great selection of interesting beers and a fairly decent menu too. Perfect outdoor seating for late summer afternoons because it is west-facing. (05/03/10)

Picture of The Adam and Eve, a Bar in London, W1 The Adam and Eve Restaurant, Noho, London (W1T 3QQ) customer review by Rufus Letch, Balham: A proper gastropub so close to Oxford Street? How can this be?! Not easily seen from the main shopping precinct but a great one to know about if you need some respite from the madness of consumerism. There’s lots of seating options and enough nooks and crannies to make it feel like you’ve escaped. Good beer selection too. (05/03/10)

Picture of Antonia's, a Bar / Restaurant in London, W6 Antonia's Restaurant, Hammersmith, London (W6 7AL) customer review by Lewis, Fulham: I was first invited to Antonia’s before Christmas for a private party. It was a fantastic night! Staff could not have been more accommodating or friendlier - the service was ‘Top Class’. It has since become a regular favourite as the food is great, fresh, healthy, creative cooking and amazing value for money. An interesting Mediterranean menu with beautiful pasta selections… you can even create your own. I would highly recommend the Mediterranean vegetable and goats cheese pizza and there are always a broad selection of fresh salads available. We often treat ourselves to one of their delicious deserts. Some evenings it gets very busy as it’s the No.1 hot spot for show goers at the Apollo theatre and has just won the good food award for best local cafe. A warm and buzzy atmosphere! (05/03/10)
