The Wine Gallery Overview
The Wine Gallery – ‘Just like popping round to a friend’s house for supper, without anyone having to cook’. The rather understated premises, set in the heart of Chelsea, has a diverse reasonably priced menu, cheap wine and importantly a relaxed atmosphere with no pretence.
Fundamentally, this is a restaurant but when sitting down to your meal, you notice an array of art work encompassing the walls. You can purchase the work of local artists there and then; although not a new idea, still a novelty.
Food includes a vast but modest range of delights. Favourites seem to be the deep fried Brie with cranberry sauce, fishcakes with choice of tomato and basil salad or chips, a delicious lamb burger and Thai chicken curry. Many of the starters can be doubled in size to constitute a main, again exemplifying the unperturbed atmosphere of this establishment. Prices range from £4.50 for a starter to averaging £8.95 for mains. Wine is bought in from the sister shop next door (The Wine Shop) and a bottle of Pinot Grigio sells at a reasonable £7.95 per bottle.
An assortment of characters inhabit the tables ranging from romantic couples, girly gossips to (verging on rowdy) assemblages of young professionals.
A place where you can go with your friends for a quiet night out, for a pre-drinking-session meal or even take your parents when they are in town. The combination of good food, bubbling atmosphere and inexpensive wine makes for a satisfying and enjoyable experience.

Wine Gallery Garden – There is a very pretty garden which is open when the weather is warm and has overhead heaters for the cooler evenings. There are also tables outside on the pavement.
Wine Gallery Art – There is a continually changing display of art on the walls which is for sale. (Updated 15/08/2007)
