The Mongolian Barbeque Overview
This form of cooking really does have its roots in the 13th century. The transcripts of Marco Polo's writings mention Mongolian warriors cooking on upturned shields. Over time the method of cooking over a fire on a flat metal surface spread to other parts of Asia. Today the best-developed form of this style of cooking is found at The Mongolian Barbeque. There are a number of imitators but, in reality, nobody does it better.
There are oodles of noodles, rice, Mongolian Flatbreads to accompany the meal and a great selection of starters and desserts available too.
Try one of their Mongolian Cocktails -The Wrath of Khan, Storm from the East or Blue Balkai are favourites - many available as Jugs.
Pitchers of Beer and Oriental bottled Beers - Tiger from Singapore, Bintang from Indonesia, Hite from Korea as well as Baadog from Mongolia are also available. Wines from the New and Old Worlds as well as a wide selection of Soft Drinks and Fruit Juices complete the picture. (Updated 06/03/2007)
