The Great Eastern Dining Room Overview
Less of a city crowd than Cantaloupe across the road, The Great Eastern Dining Room is a simple, but sleek bar with a dark wood, sophisticated theme, which is far cleaner than most of the other bars in the vicinity.
That doesn't seem to affect the crowd though and the arty hoxton crew still flocks, especially now that the more laid-back basement (Below 54) is open, with pouffes, low lighting, club visuals and all. The restaurant upstairs offers seriously good food in a rather noisy and busy environment, with the menu leaning towards the a Pan Asian Cuisine. The Great Eastern Dining Room is not cheap though and booking is a must most days. (Updated 12/11/2005)
