The Clerkenwell Dining Room & Bar Overview
EC1 is home to Clerkenwell Dining Room, the understated, sexy face of London dining. The relaxed setting is high on chic whilst remaining welcoming, this unobtrusive atmosphere being the ideal way to focus on the exceptional Modern European menu created by Andrew Thompson, formerly of Michelin-starred Soho heavyweights L'Escargot. The venue's owners learned their trade as part of the Marco Pierre White organisation thus guaranteeing a superlative dining experience yet at prices that won't break the bank. Very urbane, very chilled.
The site of The Clerkenwell Dining Room & Bar was Stephen Bull’s for several years, and most recently a Belgo Bierodrome. A cosmetic refurbishment - mostly paint and fabric - has improved the interior mood with dark wood and warm tones of Oxford blue and mushroom. The ground floor restaurant can accommodate up to 70 for lunch/dinner complete with a separate cocktail bar for drinks before or after. (Updated 30/08/2008)
