Fluid Eating's Review of Sauterelle Restaurant
Situated on the south mezzanine of the Royal Exchange, Sauterelle is a thoroughly Gallic affair. Opened to complement the Grand Café and Bar, this fine dining room offers classic French dishes, expertly prepared, with flavours that are rich and robust.
The restaurant design is effortlessly chic, with blue club chairs and crisp table linen, while glazed arches offer stunning views of both Bank and the courtyard below.
The menu, created by Head Chef Darren Kerley, focuses on the classic traditions of 'bourgeois' French cooking. Dishes such as lobster bisque, braised rabbit with tarragon and Château grillé feature, alongside desserts including: lemon tart, chocolate fondant and passion fruit parfait.
Sauterelle has an extensive list of new and vintage wines and Champagnes, each one carefully considered to complement the flavours of the menu.
