New restaurant - Villandry Kitchen opens in High Holborn
Villandry Kitchen, the all day Café and Bistrot, opens at High Holborn.
Jamie Barber, owner of Villandry, and Ed Standring, owner of Relish Restaurants, are delighted to announce their first joint venture which they hope to be the first of many. Villandry Kitchen, a sister restaurant to Villandry in Great Portland Street and Bicester Village, offers an all day café and bistrot menu with the high quality of food, design and service that has become synonymous with Villandry.
Ready to provide breakfast for the morning commuters, through to dinner every evening,Villandry Kitchen will become as well-loved by local workers and residents alike. Villandry Kitchen combines a Charcuterie counter, Bar and Bistrot in one, offering firm favourites such as croque monsieur, gratin of macaroni cheese with crispy bacon and moules frites with crusty bread. Other options include Provençal Pizzas from £5.95 and a char grill selection including 10oz Ribeye Steak with Tarragon Butter, Watercress and French Fries at £14.25.
All the breads and pastries are delivered daily from the bakery at Villandry, Great Portland Street such as the famous all butter croissants that are the perfect start to anyone’s day.
Sophie Douglas, of Fusion, who redesigned Great Portland Street in 2005, has returned to design the new café and bistrot. The interior will have many elements that are recognisable from the original from the colour palette to the furniture, as well as a new private dining room called The Kitchen Table; a private basement space that can accommodate up to 30 guests seated or 40 standing for any meetings, private parties, product launches or corporate dinners.
In the current economic climate, trading at Villandry has remained strong, as customers have responded well to the combination of excellent quality and great value for money. Staying nimble and reactive to customer trends has ensured the on-going success at Great Portland Street and Bicester Village. It is with this in mind that Villandry Kitchen opens to ensure that customers have a strong, varied menu, great service and great value for money.
