Fluid Eating's Review of Mr Wing Restaurant
Mr Wing is a family owned Chinese restaurant and has been a mainstay of its neighbourhood seven days a week since 1986. Famous for its food, marine fish, foliage, jazz and 'funky stylish atmosphere', Mr Wing continues to offer some of the best in Chinese cuisine.
Their broad menu ranges from a North China speciality Crispy Aromatic Duck, to a Southern favourite Spicy Szechuan Beef with Chilli. There is an excellent wine list that is constantly updated with the latest vintages. Their cocktails and mixed drinks are also enjoyed by their customers.
If it's a unique venue you're looking for, then Mr Wing is your man. With a funky take on the usual Chinese decor, Mr Wing features not only a waterfall but a huge (30 feet!) reef aquarium. The restaurant has three spaces to suit your next birthday, anniversary, reunion or get-together: an intimate alcove area which hosts 6 comfortably, the rear lounge for seating up to 20 guests and hire of the whole place which can take 70 seated or 80 standing. For your entertainment, the lively bar showcases jazz during the weekend, and Mr Wing is always happy to help plan a menu that will fit the bill. Their wide range of Chinese specialties have been making mouths water and filling local bellies for years. Friendly service and a great selection of spirits and wine add up to a great party.
