Manna Overview
"The best vegetarian restaurant in London" enthuses Time Out, and Manna is indeed exceptional. The regular and loyal clientele (many of them celebrities) pay homage to this. Situated in trendy Primrose Hill, opposite Triyoga (you should really pop into Manna after a yoga class) this restaurant is all about making vegetarian food a joy. Even the tofu - usually a rather poor and tasteless meat substitute - is good. You can have it served up as a steak, mixed into the chef's salad (which I highly recommend) or in a fajita. Mains range form aorund £9 to £14.
The food served is comfort food - but of the healthy variety. And the rhubarb crumble I had for dessert epitomises this. Desserts are £5-£7.25. And as the food is all very light you might well be able to fit one in.
Manna has a laid-back atmosphere with a definite air of hippy. Certainly worth trying out even if you do not live in the Primrose Hill vicinity. (Updated 19/04/2006)
