Fluid Eating's Review of Firehouse

This private members' club has been recently refurbished and re-launched and now attracts a dynamic and vibrant crowd from all over London. Set over three floors, each offering a different experience, FireHouse is a fantastic new venue for entertaining friends or just hanging out. Competitively priced membership ensures a diverse mix of members and guests from the young and trendy to the rich and famous.

FireHouse is housed in a Grade II listed mansion at 3 Cromwell Road, just opposite the Natural History Museum, on the corner of Exhibition Road. For the last sixty years there has been a club in this building, which hosted John Aspinall's first gaming club, Jimi Hendrix'x first concert in the UK, and the celebrations for Tom Jones' first chart Number One.

At the heart of No. 3, the Firehouse bar provides a warm welcome to members and guests alike. Classic cocktails vie for popularity against the house mixes, such as the Fired Passion - sure to live up to its name. Gas fires and cushioned seating are perfect for a cold winter's evening, but in the summer heat, the Firehouse bar opens out onto the Terrace. Perfect for early drinks before ascending to the Restaurant or descending to Chloe, the Firehouse bar is the focus for any great night out at the club.

A stunning yet intimate nightclub venue in its own right, Chloe regularly hosts London's funkiest DJs. Lose all track of time in the underground vaults of Firehouse and let the music and heady atmosphere carry you away, or relax at a private table whilst others do the hard work.

On the first floor of Firehouse, the Dining Room was created in September 2002 as a brand new restaurant open to all. With panoramic views over the South Kensington Museums, everyone can enjoy the flavours and hospitality which have led to the Dining Room earning plaudits from top London restaurant guides such as Hardens and Zagat. The set-price dinner menu changes throughout the year to take advantage of the best seasonal products available in London's food markets.

When the mercury rises and London begins to heat up, the Terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a warm summer's evening. Equipped with a real charcoal grille, the Terrace can also be used to host small private parties, or be used in conjunction with the Firehouse bar for bigger events. (Updated 23/03/2008)
