Fiesta Havana Overview
In fancy Fulham where the prices can be high and the noses can be snooty, this little piece of South America offers a welcome bit of quirkiness.
You can hardly miss the bright turquoise exterior of Fiesta Havana and you shouldn't miss the informal dance classes.
On a Monday there's Lambada, where as on Tuesday to Thursday it's Salsa (on a Tuesday you have to pay £3 for tuition, the rest of the week is free). Fiesta Havana caters for people who know what they're doing and people who don't but on the night I went, there were 10 couples of intermediate level very impressively doing the Salsa. As a complete beginner I was utterly intimidated but that was more to do with me than the very sweet staff who wanted me to give it a whirl.
As a watering hole, Fiesta Havana has a Happy Hour from 5 to 7.30 Monday to Friday where San Miguel and Coronas are half price and cocktails are £2.95 (usually a fiver). When it comes to the latter I'd recommend you stick to the Caipirinhas and the Mojitos.
Staff as mentioned are sweet. Our waitress was a shiny, happy soul who looked like she enjoyed being there as do the crowd that go to Fiesta Havana. An eclectic lot, the main bulk of dancers come from the law society (who weren't in that evening, so expect it to be busier and a lot less intimidating when you go) but there are also office workers and older gents sat around supping bottled beers with a slice of lime.
