Bibendum Overview
Opened in 1987 by Sir Terence Conran and Paul Hamlyn, with Simon Hopkinson as founding chef, Bibendum was indisputably in the forefront of a modern new wave of restaurants, with its distinctive design and fresh perspective on food and service.
Bibendum is located in the stunning art deco former headquarters of the Michelin Tyre Co, Bibendum offers perfectly delivered classics with a French bias, and the occasional contemporary twist.
Bibendum Oyster Bar is on the ground floor of the Michelin Building, separate to Bibendum restaurant upstairs. The Oyster bar sits in the main foyer with the original floor and wall tiling depicting the great races of the day, serving seafood and cold salads ideal for a light lunch or for an early evening drink. It is also possible to just pop in for a drink in the late afternoon or evening as they hold a full licence.
