Almeida Overview
Almeida Restaurant & Bar is a fine addition to Islington’s vibrant neighbourhood restaurant scene, as well as having an appeal for foodies throughout London.
The 98-seat site is located just a few steps from Upper Street, at 30 Almeida Street, N1, just opposite the Almeida Theatre. Along with a separate bar, and a private dining room to seat up to 20, the restaurant has a simple but contemporary interior design, was conceived by Terence Conran.
The Almeida Tapas Bar is a cosy, sunken seated area behind the main bar - it's an intimate spot for drinks before or after dinner, or as a destination in its own right.
The bar has a rippled mocha front and oak back bar which stores and displays wines, spirits and liqueurs. The cosy lower bar features purple banquette seating, red chairs and dark red walls, and is decorated with Hulton Getty’s ‘Funny Peculiar’ photographs. (Updated 27/11/2005)
