805 Overview
805 was launched in October 2001 and has quickly become the favourite haunt for exceptional African food in London. It is a 100 seater restaurant located on the Old Kent Road, the heart of South East London.
The menu at 805 has been constructed making the best use of African and Local produce. Foods include favourites like Jollof rice, a dish similar to risotto but spicier with a unique piquant flavour. The most popular dish is the whole grilled fish served with plantains (the uncle of the banana), and a crisp summer or winter salad. An unforgettable dish humorously named ‘Monika’.
The soft lighting and sounds of cool jazz with combinations of African music creates a nice atmosphere in which food of great quality is enjoyed.
There is parking around the area for up to 20 cars available from the afternoon and for up to 30 cars after 7pm (Updated 04/09/2007)
